Designed by KanyaMarie is a small, woman owned business located in Altoona offering bridal and formal alterations, custom gown design and an array of creative sewing products and hand crafted items.  Custom Sewing and Design:

KanyaMarie will help you to visualize the ideas you may have and put them to paper, whether that means offering design ideas to create a cohesive design or simply create a visual for a design you already want. KanyaMarie will then take that design, work out budget and materials with you, create a sample, and then the final product. Custom Design offered for Bridal Gowns, Bridesmaid Dresses, Flower girl dresses, Prom and Formal gowns. As well as re-design for updating classic/vintage/heirloom dresses to modern styles or baptism gowns.

Custom projects have a labor cost set at $30 per hour plus the cost of materials. A materials deposit will be required upon consultation confirmation, deposit determined based on project requested. Preliminary consultation is free of charge. A twelve week minimum is required for all custom projects, six months required for custom bridal gowns.

Alterations:

A proper fit can make a big impression. Make sure yours fits you like a glove. Kanya Marie offers alteration services for Bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, Mother of the bride, and flower girl, as well as Prom and Homecoming and other formal gowns. Alteration services are also available for costuming and cosplay outfits/dresses within limitations. Please reach out if you’re unsure whether or not your item is something I will alter. More flexibility is available during the off-wedding season months (October to January).

Kanya Marie NO LONGER offers personal tailoring on ready to wear clothing or men’s dress clothes.

Pricing: Alterations costs vary depending on the alteration needed and the complexity of the garment. In general, bridesmaids dresses can range from $50-$150 and bridal gowns average between $200-$500. These are my most average price ranges for those items, please reach out for my exact quotes. Full cost estimates will be given at the first fitting.

Alterations turnaround times range anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks depending on the time of year. Please check the announcement bar at the top of the website or reach out for the most up to date times. A rush fee will apply for any alteration requested within the current times posted. Please check for availability as peak season times will affect the time frame of the turnaround.
